Dive, Dive, Dive!
October 2021
I do like a diving keeper.
Especially when fully airborne with the earth flying and the ball whistling past them (for the baddies) or safely caught/ cleared (for the goodies).
This shows the Jersey Bulls keeper expressing some consternation as the ball eludes him (and, sadly, the net as we went down 3-0).

I don’t stress too much about the angle of the sun: what you lose on vibrance and haze (much which you can generally fix in post processing anyway), you gain on the backlit outline. Having said which, I did invest in a polarising filter after a particularly hazy day at Colliers Wood. Their ground, which we used to share, is next to the A3 and gets a LOT of haze from the heavy traffic. (Sadly, the filter was shallow enough to get scratched by my lens cap, which I didn’t notice for far too long.)
